Delicious Cherry and Strawberry Jam
.
This cherry and strawberry chia jam is so easy to make. It’s perfect if you’ve got a lot of fruit that’s just about to go slightly soft and it’s SO much healthier than normal jam, plus chia seeds provide a source of protein and omega 3 😇🍒🍓
It’s a flexible recipe so if you only have strawberries that’s fine, just make sure you measure 3 cups. You can use raspberries, nectarines, apricots instead if you prefer.
How to make:
1 1/2 cups of pitted cherries
1 1/2 cups of strawberries
1-2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp maple syrup
3 tbsp chia seeds
Add the fruit to a saucepan and heat until soft and syrupy. Mash down slightly.
.

Add lemon juice and maple syrup and adjust to taste.
Pour into a jar and stir in the chia seeds. Allow to set for half an hour.
Delicious stirred into yogurt or spread on some sourdough toast.
.
It will keep in the fridge for about a week.
