As some of you will know, I’ve been working hard recently to complete my ILM Accredited Wellbeing Coaching training and I’m very pleased to say that not only am I now qualified but I was given 95%, which is apparently one of the highest marks ever awarded!
Below I explain exactly what wellbeing coaching is.
Having undergone coaching myself as part of my training, I can highly recommend it as an exciting and inspiring process that really helps you to focus in a realistic way on what you truly want to achieve.
When we are ready to make positive changes in our lives, we attract whatever we need to help us
SO WHAT IS WELLBEING COACHING?
Wellbeing coaching is a powerful goal focused tool used to close the gap between where you are in your life and where you want to be.
It helps you to recognise patterns of beliefs and behaviours which may be holding you back from achieving what you want – this applies to nutritional health but also other areas of your life too, all of which may be connected.
Wellbeing coaching can help you gain the knowledge, tools and confidence to become an active participant in all aspects of your health and wellbeing. A major report for the Dept of Health on self care confirmed that talking, shared advice and encouragement are the most effective generators of personal health change
You have within you the resources to have, be or do whatever you want
Through wellbeing coaching, it is possible to realise your aspirations. However, we all know this is not always so easy and many things can hold us back so it is important to look for any resistance, such as limiting beliefs, and then work on addressing this so that we are able to move forward.
AIMS OF WELLBEING COACHING
As a wellbeing coach I aim to:
Help you to define clear health and wellbeing goals
Enable you to clarify your vision, life purpose, values, goals.
Support you in making energetic shifts and long term changes
Challenge unsupportive thoughts, beliefs and behaviours effectively
Identify resistance, creating breakthroughs
Help you to honour your own wellbeing above all else
Improve health outcomes
Help you to live with greater awareness, clarity, balance and vitality
COULD YOU BENEFIT FROM WELLBEING COACHING?
It ties in well with Nutritional Therapy and anyone with a health concern can benefit. It can, for example, be really helpful for weight issues and if you’re struggling to stick to your programme. There is sometimes an underlying emotional cause that leads a person to overeat, or eat the wrong types of food, quite often going back to childhood.
However, coaching can also really help if you are at a crossroads in your life, feeling unfulfilled or that you’re not doing what you’d really love to do. As the testimonials from my lovely case studies below both show, it can be enormously helpful for building confidence and self esteem too.
Above all wellbeing coaching is inspiring!
Wellbeing coaching takes place weekly or fortnightly – in person or over skype.
Before you book, I am offering a free holistic wellbeing review so you can decide whether coaching will be helpful for you.
I’m pleased there’s been a lot of interest already so do get in touch if you would like to know more
Reviews from my wellbeing coaching case studies
Vanessa’s warm, inclusive and non-judgemental manner enabled me to really open up in each coaching session. I have been able to explore so many aspects of my well-being, talking through many areas of my life I normally keep closed to others. This has proved extremely cathartic and rewarding, has given me more self-belief, confidence and self-esteem, and has enabled me to set some achievable goals. I would recommend Vanessa as a well-being coach, especially for those who don’t find it easy to talk about, and focus on, themselves.
Unsure what to expect, but approaching my well-being coaching sessions with an open mind, I have found the experience to be a very positive and empowering one. Well-being coaching with Vanessa has raised my self-awareness and through the process challenged me to really consider and articulate what are the various goals I want to achieve in different aspects of my life and, more importantly, to identify the specific actions that need to be undertaken to get there, including any obstacles that need to be overcome.
Vanessa is supportive, non-judgemental and very easy to talk to and these factors coupled with her relaxed manner but focused style of questioning really encourages you to pin-point areas for action. Well-being coaching is a two-way process and as much as Vanessa’s role is to coach I soon realised I too needed to dig deep to find the answers myself. Whilst emotionally challenging at times, these were some of my most rewarding sessions!
