If you ever feel the need to recharge your batteries and escape from the stresses of every day life, I can highly recommend Witherdens Hall. As a wellbeing coach, I always suggest putting your own wellbeing above all else, so a few weeks ago I decided I better practice what I preach!
I came across Witherdens Hall on the Queen of Retreats website and immediately felt it was the perfect choice for me. It’s in the beautiful Kent countryside so you can go for long walks and get some much needed fresh air if, like me, you live in a city. The reviews were pretty faultless and I liked the fact that you could choose from a list of therapists who provide a range of various treatments.
It’s self-catering (though you can pre-order breakfast if you want to) and the suite I stayed in had a well-equipped little kitchen. There’s a farm shop within walking distance, though next time I think I would bring a few supplies with me.
On arrival, the suite smelt fabulous and the well thought out touches of fresh flowers, homemade bath salts, Neals Yard products and inspirational books really make a difference. I immediately felt myself unwinding. The bed was comfy (very important!) and I slept really well.
I was very impressed with the care and standard of the treatments offered. The afternoon I arrived I had booked the lovely and very intuitive Marilyn for a facial and reiki massage which was the perfect start to my stay. I then made use of the infrared sauna which was incredibly relaxing.
The following morning, after waking to bird song, I had a session with Suzi for breakthrough coaching which was amazing and quite emotional. Then later I had a fantastic reflexology treatment with Sarah who was really accurate in spotting my areas of concern. On my last morning I had booked Debbie for a massage – many reviewers say that she gives the best massage they have ever had – and I wouldn’t disagree. This was a really great way to end my stay.
All the therapists I saw were absolutely lovely and I can highly recommend each one. A special mention also has to go to the lovely Marietta – warm, friendly and attentive but sensitive that the purpose of your trip might be to have some alone time. All in all, I’m so pleased to have discovered Witherdens Hall. It’s a real find – a wonderful choice if you want a restorative break away from it all. It’s also pretty reasonably priced and you can choose as few or as many treatments as you like, depending on your budget.
Witherdens Hall is a peaceful, relaxing haven where you can unwind from every day stresses and choose treatments from a group of experienced and dedicated therapists. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed and already planning to return.
